If you can, yes. It's not a necessity. It's an advantage to have longer quickdraws sometimes. Sometimes the route make a very sharp transition going from slab to overhang, a longer quickdraw would put less friction in the system, as an example.

So I went with the Edelrid Heron Pro Dry as a single rope. I decided that if I need to go halfroping I'll have to get a separate set of ropes, and then get lighter ones that aren't ment for projects by themselves.
